Oh, hey, I don't know if you saw this when I posted it on twitter, but I found the MOST BADASS PICTURE EVER of Huda Shaarawi, a crucial figure in Egyptian feminist history. She's in the middle. (I think that's Nabawiya Musa on the left and Saiza Nabarawi on the right, but don't quote me there.) Anyway, should you ever do an "old timey folks" week. (Here she is younger, on the left. And this site has some pictures of parties at her place. 1940s fashion! Clearly, I could google early 20th century Middle Eastern photos ALL DAY, when I should be prepping tomorrow's classes/my next job application/grading.)
